Resizing Images in PaintShop Pro (PSP)
Learn how to resize your images and retain clarity for crisp printable results.
STEP 1 – Open Your Image
Start PaintShop Pro and open the clipart or printable image of your choice.
STEP 2 – Resize the Image
Go to Image → Resize (Or press Ctrl + S on your keyboard.)
Recommended Resize Settings
- Size: Reduce image size (example: 50%).
- Print Size: No changes.
- Resample using: SMART SIZE (must be checked).
- Resize All Layers: Unchecked.
You may use your preferred size settings — just make sure Smart Size is selected and Resize All Layers is unchecked.
STEP 3 – Sharpen for Clarity
After resizing, images may lose slight clarity. I apply a gentle sharpening effect using Unsharp Mask.
Go to Adjust → Sharpen → Unsharp Mask.
My Typical Unsharp Mask Settings
- Radius: 29
- Strength: 31
- Clipping: 4
Click OK and your resized image will be sharper and ready to use in your printable designs.
