How to Print In Internet Explorer?

  1. Click on Gear button, located in the upper right hand corner of your browser window. You'll get a list of options available.

  2. When the drop-down menu appears, hover - place your mouse cursor over PRINT and, select PRINT PREVIEW.

  3. On the Print Preview, you should now see how the printed copy will be like.

Check if the Print Size is set to 100%.
    (default is shrink to fit)

Pick a scaling rate of your choice.
    I use 100% and it's always good.

    Click Print to start printing.

How to get more print space?

If you're printing for the first time, there are a couple of settings you can change before printing.

  • Click on Gear button, select PRINT and then PAGE SETUP.

  • A menu such as this should open and here you can change several settings.

    1. Uncheck "ENABLE SHRINK TO FIT" option.
(This option prints at the correct size, "shrink" is a little smaller than intended.)

    2. Change print margins to 0. (0 may be automatically changed to any minimum that your printer supports.)

    3. (With this option you're good to print large items such as wrappers for Dixie cups or Jiffy Popcorn Toppers.)

    4. Disable "Headers and Footers" text boxes by selecting "Empty" from the drop down boxes.
(Again, you'll gain more print space.)

    5. Click OK.

    6. You can now start printing.

Open something that you'd like to print,

These settings will be saved and you only need to change them once.

This is not really necessary, but it's a good idea especially, if you're printing 3x5 recipe cards. The bottom part of the third recipe card sometimes gets cut off and you can prevent this before you waste paper, ink and time :)

Enjoy and remember to ask me for help whenever you need it. I'm always here for you and I am always to glad to help!
